Impaired Evidence Accumulation as a Transdiagnostic Vulnerability Factor in Psychopathology

چکیده

There is substantial interest in identifying biobehavioral dimensions of individual variation that cut across heterogenous disorder categories, and computational models can play a major role advancing this goal. In report, we focused on efficiency evidence accumulation (EEA), computationally characterized variable derived from sequential sampling choice tasks. We created an EEA factor three behavioral tasks the UCLA Phenomics dataset ( n = 272), which includes healthy participants 130) as well-participants with schizophrenia 50), bipolar 49), attention-deficit/hyperactivity 43). found was significantly reduced all disorders, it correlated overall severity score for psychopathology well self-report measures impulsivity. Although general intelligence, remained associated symptom scales even after controlling intelligence scores. Taken together, these findings suggest promising computationally-characterized dimension neurocognitive variation, diminished conferring transdiagnostic vulnerability to psychopathology.

Heart rate variability as a transdiagnostic biomarker of psychopathology.

The Research Domain Criteria (RDoC), developed by the National Institute of Mental Health as a neuroscience-informed alternative to traditional psychiatric nosology, is an explicitly dimensional system in which classification of psychopathology is derived inductively (i.e., from basic science), across multiple levels of analysis (e.g., genetic, neural, psychophysiological, and behavioral). Alth...

Phenotypic factor analysis of psychopathology reveals a new body-related transdiagnostic factor

Comorbidity challenges the notion of mental disorders as discrete categories. An increasing body of literature shows that symptoms cut across traditional diagnostic boundaries and interact in shaping the latent structure of psychopathology. Using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, we reveal the latent sources of covariation among nine measures of psychopathological functioning in a p...

The importance of transdiagnostic approach in psychopathology and psychotherapy

In recent years, the use of the “transdiagnostic” term and construct has been considered in the field of psychopathology and psychological treatments. Transdiagnostic models and treatments were developed in contrast to single-diagnosis protocols. Transdiagnostic in psychopathology means addressing common underlying mechanisms in a range of comorbid disorders and in the field of treatment means ...

The Role of Perfectionism as a Transdiagnostic Factor in the Prediction of Emotional Disorders Symptoms Severity

Objective: Although emotions help us respond compatibly to the problems and opportunities we encounter in life, their deviation can lay the foundation for emotional disorders. Perfectionism is a person’s wish to meet ones as well as others’ expectations, albeit with better quality than what the situation allows. According to research literature it seems that dimension...
